Although EA is yet to move other franchises exclusively over to next-gen consoles, Dragon Age 4 could very well still be a way off, and the publisher has already shown at present that it's ready to start distinguishing between console generations in other games. With little currently known about Dragon Age 4, and the game yet to receive an official release date, it might not come as a massive surprise to fans that the game may only be launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (as well as PC, of course). At present, however, it should be noted that the publisher has not publicly commented on which consoles that Dragon Age 4 will release for. While Nordlander is no longer with Bioware – he left in 2020 to work as the Game Director on Godfall for Counterplay Games – GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb also separately reports to have confirmed rumors that EA is planning a next-gen only console release for the game.

As shared by Twitter user Faizan Shaikh, experience listed on the LinkedIn profile for Dragon Age 4's Lead Player Designer Daniel Nordlander seems to suggest that the game will only feature as a console release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with older generations set to miss out.ĭragon Age Is Next Gen Only & Deeper Character Classes I hope Bioware don't miss this time.
